We just happened upon the NCAA On Demand web site, which features a few brief highlights from relatively recent NCAA Championships, and also allows users to order DVDs of past NCAA Division I Cross Country and Track & Field Championships.

Shalane Flanagan ran 14:44.80 and established a new American 5,000 meter record at the Mt. SAC Relays Friday, April 13 in Walnut, California. The old record of 14:45.35 was set by Regina Jacobs in 2000, who later tested positive for a banned substance and received a four-year ban from the sport.
Flanagan was rabbited through approximately 1,850 meters by her former University of North Carolina teammate, and current Nike teammate, Erin Donohue. Flanagan recorded unofficial kilometer splits of 2:55, 2:57, 2:58.8 (8:51.6 at 3,000), 3:00.7, and 2:52.5. Jen Rhines finished second in a solid early season time of 15:10.80.
A video of the race and a post-race interview with Flanagan can be found here.

We reported earlier today that the Once A Runner movie is scheduled to come out this summer. However, according to a sometimes-reliable source, the movie web site is just a well done hoax. OAR groupies and running fans will have to continue waiting for a much-anticipated movie version of the cult running novel.

The most recent episode of ChasingKIMBIA's video blog, "The sky's the limit," is now available at the popular web site, www.chasingkimbia.com. In this episode, the KIMbia contingent visits Tambach Teacher's College, where Richard Kiplagat got his start. They're all forced to give impromptu speeches, and they perform admirably. (Conveniently, site creator Matt Taylor edits out most of his own speech.)
Make sure to read Taylor's "show notes" as well (scroll down the linked page to view them).
